Liancheng IoT Cloud Platform V4.0: Intelligent Control for Safe and Efficient Smart Water Management

The Liancheng IoT Cloud Platform V4.0 integrates the core architecture of Industry 4.0 with the Internet of Things, big data, cloud computing, edge computing, GIS, and artificial intelligence. Building on the capabilities developed through its previous three versions, V4.0 delivers a further upgrade in intelligent monitoring, data analysis, and platform security.

The upgraded platform introduces new monitoring interfaces for large pumps—including submersible sewage pumps, double-suction pumps, and axial-flow pumps—as well as a monitoring interface for fire-system end-point water testing. It also improves the intelligent data-analysis module and strengthens system-wide security protection.

Designed for secondary pressurized water supply, integrated prefabricated pumping stations, smart fire protection, intelligent large-pump systems, and water purification systems, the platform provides full-lifecycle equipment management. It supports the transition from traditional maintenance to connected, intelligent, and efficient control.

01   Communication Architecture and Deployment Advantages

The platform uses a PLC and FBOX edge-computing terminal to establish an industrial-grade communication link. It supports wired and wireless transmission. Factory preconfiguration eliminates on-site commissioning and the need to arrange an additional SIM card, allowing compatible equipment to connect to the cloud after power-up.

Security encryption is applied throughout the complete data path—from field equipment and the transmission layer to the data center and applications. The architecture supports real-time synchronization, offline data retention, and stable transmission.

Fast Deployment
Stable Operation
Easy Maintenance
High Compatibility

These capabilities allow the platform to adapt quickly to new construction and retrofit projects while helping reduce implementation costs.

02   GIS-Based Visualization and Asset Management

Using GIS technology, the platform creates a spatial, precise, and integrated equipment asset-management system. Users can view project distribution, equipment coordinates, commissioning duration, and online status directly on the map.

  • Monitor pump-room temperature, humidity, noise, and other environmental data.
  • Display alarm information in real time.
  • Select monitored assets through the equipment-list pop-up.
  • View equipment details by hovering over a map location and open the monitoring interface with one click.

Equipment can therefore be located, queried, monitored, and traced to the responsible management process, simplifying the management of widely distributed assets.

Intelligent Monitoring Across Water Management Scenarios

Liancheng IoT Cloud Platform V4.0 integrates multiple water-system applications into one environment, enabling unified management, professional intelligent control, proactive prevention, and closed-loop operation and maintenance.

Smart Secondary Water Supply Monitoring

The secondary water supply interface provides multidimensional, real-time management of project information, energy consumption, water quality, security, operating data, and faults. It supports live preview from multiple cameras, split-screen viewing, historical playback, image capture, and cloud storage.

The platform accurately calculates electricity consumption per tonne of water, intelligently evaluates water-quality health, and uses AI to optimize dynamic pump-group operation. Digital-twin visualization, video linkage, and edge-side data retention during network interruptions support safe, energy-efficient, and stable 24/7 unattended operation.

Smart Submersible Sewage Pump Monitoring

The intelligent submersible sewage pump interface continuously tracks motor-winding temperature, bearing temperature, vibration amplitude, and other operating data through trend curves. These measurements help identify warning signs associated with motor burnout, jamming, dry running, and other faults.

The platform analyzes running time and start-stop frequency while displaying real-time pump-room video, pump operating data, and fault records. Rapid abnormal-condition identification and automatic protection help reduce failures and extend pump service life.

Smart Fire Protection System Monitoring

Designed in accordance with applicable fire-protection requirements, the system monitors project information, fire-water-tank levels, equipment status, and operating data to maintain operational readiness.

The platform can simultaneously monitor up to 120 end-point water-test devices, capturing actual pressure and flow data. Fault notifications are issued rapidly, and records remain traceable to support compliant acceptance and dependable emergency operation.

Intelligent Water Quality Monitoring and Alerts

Water quality is a fundamental requirement for any water supply system. The platform supports continuous collection, historical trend review, and multi-device comparison of key indicators, including pH, turbidity, residual chlorine, temperature, conductivity, and dissolved oxygen.

The abnormal water-quality alarm module automatically calculates alarm distribution, the proportion of affected equipment, and the percentage of limits exceeded for different parameters. It generates visual reports and supports data export and traceability, creating a data-driven, standardized, and auditable monitoring framework for drinking-water safety.

03   Data Monitoring and Intelligent Analysis

The data-analysis module can compare the same parameter across multiple equipment sets. Users can also select several parameters and display them on the same coordinate axis, making relationships and operating differences easier to identify.

Queries can be displayed by day or hour according to the selected date, and results can be exported locally as an Excel report. Typical comparisons include:

  • Accumulated electricity consumption across multiple equipment sets
  • Voltage and pressure comparisons
  • Inlet and outlet flow data
  • Operating status of multiple pumps
